I purchased my 1966 Coupe 427/425 with wire rims. I have been trying for an year to figure who made these. Does anybody here remember who may have produced thes?
I have some just like them on my C1. They are stamped W.R. Grace & Co 1974 on the back side. W.R. Grace & Co owned Appliance mags in the 60s and 70s. When looking for replacement lug nuts I ordered them from the Lug Nut Guys for Appliance rims. They were the only lug nuts I could find that fit.
Bill,
Look at where the spokes attach to your rim. There are faux tighteners on your wheels. The OP's wheel don't have them. Now, look at the picture of the Weld Wheel I posted in post #2...no faux tighteners. I'm fairly certain the OP has Weld Wheels...but, he hasn't checked back since his initial post.
You are probably correct. I thought I could see adjusters on the OP rims but maybe not. The slotted mounting holes on the weld wheel may also be a clue.
im not a fan of wire wheels but they are kind of period correct and the wife likes them so…
