Default E-Fan Question

Just wondering....why doesn't anyone make an electric fan for a C2 that attaches to the existing fan shroud? Seems very simple. Leave existing shroud in place, 4 holes at 90 degrees for attachment hardware. Install in 10 minutes.. Would work with other generations as well.

Don't most electric fans have to fit up close to the radiator to work properly?

That's kinda what I'm wondering. Do they have too. Seems to me this would be just as good.

E-fans don't drain HP and they work better for heavy traffic and parades.

I think I remember them telling me they only offer radiator/fan combos.

Do a quick search and you can find the same fan DeWitt uses in their combo (I think maybe Zip, but not sure). I got one and it works well. It IS, however, against the radiator. I kept the original clutch fan as well and wired the E fan only to come one at 200*, off at 180*

Thanks. Nice setup. I am running a 7 blade fan with a HD clutch. No cooling problems, but I am never in heavy traffic. My first and only experience with a parade was with a 5 blade fan and I ended up having to drop out, so when I had the AC unit installed I went with the 7 blade. I just often wondered why no one ever designed a fan setup like I described.
