So I have had my coupe for 5 years ish. And always liked the headliner as it matches the 66 seats. But when shopping parts I looked and replacements all look smooth. So what does a factory Coup Headliner look line in person?
Mine is pleated black Vinyl / leather.
pic makes it not look flat but it's all flat & level in person & looks good.
It could be original underneath that. I am not sure the later years were made the same way, but there was a sort of cardboard backing on mine, if I remember correctly it was something like 3 layers. That does look nice!
The factory headliner for a 1966 Coupe was vinyl covered foam glued to a backing piece, most times plastic.
Here are a couple pics I just took of my 66 Coupe's Dark Green Interior headliner, not great lighting but you'll get the idea.
