Default Baldwin Motion 1968

My corvette club hosted a show last weekend and this car was there attracting lots of attention. The owner claimed it was a prototype. He got it from his brother in law who is in poor health. It has the L89 with a L88 cam. There was also a mid engine 63 that was built for the SEMA show in 2020.

That some interesting history there. Motion and Nic(backwards K)ey were the big guns back then.

Thanks for the pictures.

Interesting cars. There are a lot of fabrication hours in that mid-engine C2.
Thanks for sharing.

The C2 is interesting but not pratical. I don't want to jump over anything to get into
the drivers seat.

Ya, I'm not crazy about a few of the ideas, but I can sure appreciate the skill and craftsmanship that it takes to build something like that.

Consensus which I concur seems to be the mid engine SWC may be an engineering marvel but ergonomically and practicality not so much.
The Baldwin Motion '68 is a a pertinent part of the muscle car wars history.

If that motion car is real it's worth a ton of money.

Perhaps I'm misreading your comment — did you mean, "The motion car is real (and) is worth a ton of money" or "The motion car is (if) real is worth a ton of money"?

Part of the display is a signed confirmation from Joel Rosen that it is one of their Motion cars. The whole letter isn't shown, but you can read most of it. The NCRS shipping report shows the destination was Baldwin Motion. Both of those are pretty air-tight for the car being legitimate.

Sorry, I just corrected my post. And yes, the paperwork certainly looks great. I remember seeing these Motion cars advertised in the car magazines back in the 60's while in HS. Who would have thought these expensive (for the day) cars like Motion, Yenko and others would be worth what they are today.
