Default Vent window and window track attachment

Took the driver's side door and window guts out several years ago. Starting to put things back together and will probably have lots of questions.

I've replaced rubber in the vent and cleaned up the crank mechanism. I'm looking at the two screws in the channel, or window track. They only stick out about 3/16". There is no thread in the holes they aim for unless it's way down. I don't know whether there should have been longer screws furnished, or if the holes are buggered out, or what.

I suppose JB Weld could be filled, drilled and tapped. But I have to ask if this is necessary. The window itself will be running up and down the channel and I don't see how the 2 parts could come apart once that's in. How critical is it to have that channel tightly attached?

Beings the threads are missing...clean up the hole and use, an Aluminum Pop Rivet...a steel pop rivet might be too aggressive/strong and crack the frame as its harder...

Gotta admit that option never crossed my mind. Worth a try!

Its a 8-32 machine screw. Just drill the hole deeper, plenty of available depth in that cast piece, and tap it and use a longer screw.
