So my drivers side door handle will not open the door from the outside. Looks like some creative repairs over the years. I would like to fix it correctly, the push rod on back of button is coming out the top of the mechanism. There’s also some hokie going on with the rod creative cotter pin or staple ?? What should this look like ?
Looks like the arm at the button plunger pulled away from the handle. You'll have to remove the handle. Then twist the arm so its flange oval pushes on the button spring, then rotate 90* down into position.
There are capture tabs to hold it.
You have to attach the lever to the arm before you reinstall the handle.
