Yes. 11.95 vs 16.99
but it’s still almost $10 difference with the respective shipping costs.Does Corvette Central have better quality or are they the same?
I'd bet both parts are sourced from the same vendor. There is such a small market for parts like these there can't be too many sources. Moreover, higher price does not necessarily mean higher quality.
Hello all,
so i’m just about to buy a replacement set of 1961 white door *****.Eckler’s shipping is $6.95Corvette Central is $17.95
what am I missing?
Central is probably shipping by UPS, but I don't know how Eckler's can ship anything for just $6.95. Unless they can put the door ***** in a small envelope of some sort and ship them by standard USPS, but even USPS Priority Mail starts at $7. I also know that Central includes a $6 or $7 dollar "handling fee" as part of all of their freight charges. I can't believe that Turn 5 (Eckler's newest owners) doesn't charge a handling fee, but If they don't, they're one of the few Corvette companies that don't. I will say that Eckler's and Volunteer always had about the fairest freight charges for wholesale customers, and Central had among the worst. I haven't really had any experience with Eckler's charges since they were acquired by Turn 5 about two and a half years ago and stopped selling wholesale.
As an FYI, the door ***** are made by Keen Parts, but they're currently on backorder.
