Default Head light adjustments??

I looked at vette a week or so ago and the head light buckets drooped towards the exterior. Is there anyway to adjust something like this or does this just confirm that a poor front end repair was completed sometime ago. As always I'm just trying to build my knowledge. So your input is greatly appreciated...Dave.

I rebuilt my headlight buckets about a month ago. There are adjustments in the mounts on the side of the buckets. You will have to pull the lights out of the buckets and then you will see the adjusting bolts. There are holes in the bucket side so you can get to the bolts. Plus you can adjust how far the buckets turn. Rebuilding them is easy once you see how they are put together.

It's much easier with your hood off, but you can adjust them easy enough from the front. The first time I did it I had the engine out which helped to see exactly how they are put together.
Good Luck,
Dave

You probably need to get a shop manual as it has some illustrations that help make sense of the light assembly. If you mean the outer edge of the headlight bucket seems to sit lower than the surrounding nose piece, the pivot assembly on the side can be loosened (3 bolts as mentioned by blewbyyu16 - reached from inside the bucket) and raised up. If you mean the front edge is drooping below the adjacent nose section front edge, there are arms with screw adjustable stops between the bucket and motor. It's hard to figure out what to do with these with the hood on because you can't see in there except with a mirror. If one side of the bucket front edge seems to line up with the nose but the other side doesn't, and the bucket doesn't seem to be sitting to low in the nose on either side, sometime the nose of the car has not been adjusted right with the stut support rods that run from the headlight mount fromes to the nose reinforcement. You can loosen these up and move the whole nose up and down a little, and if a little movement makes it better - good. I wouldn't get carried away with too much pressure to force the nose into position however. After adjusting these you will probably have to adjust the stops too. :seeya

Thanks guys I appreciated it. I was just unsure as to how much adjustment of the head lite buckets there was. Both buckets droop about a 1/8 and I just wanted to know for future reference.
