This one kind of surprised me, as I would have said the same thing as wombvette. But after looking in the "Lime Book", it appears that 3 letter codes were used on several 327 applications in '66.
HCH was used in a '66 passenger car, 327-275 HP with Holly 4 bbl. and powerglide.

I have double hump heads on this engine. If I use a modern carb, intake, and cam, polish the head passages and maybe use a new crank can I safely use this block to create, say, 350-450 HP?

That block was used in many different 327 applications from '64 to '67 only, including the '66 Corvette 300hp and 350hp engines. Put an L-79 ("151") cam in it with the corresponding intake and enjoy it. :thumbs:
