John - where did you get you car aligned? I live in the area, plan to do some suspension work, and would like to know of a good shop to take it to.

Thanx. :)

Slim's Alignment Service, 16930 10 Mile Road in Eastpointe, south side, about 100 feet east of Gratiot. (586) 775-7765. They really know their stuff, and have plenty of shims - you don't have to take your own. Had mine done last summer, $135.00 (including new shims).

Thanx for the reply John. Wow:eek:, $135.00. I guess I did not expect it to be this expensive.

Was this a 4 wheel align, or two wheel?

Full 4-wheel alignment, done right; it's expensive on Corvettes due to the time/hassle involved in setting rear toe, getting the old rusty pivot bolt out to remove old "hole" shims, etc. Mine wasn't a big hassle, as it's a recent body-off and the bolts weren't rusted. Your average local shop won't like the hassle, and will just fudge the rear toe rather than fighting with it, or just get it "close enough", which isn't. Rear toe is very critical to handling, and should be set to 1/16" total, evenly split on both sides across the thrust centerline.
