I put the #67's in today and it is a world of differnce!! It still does surge just a little bit but at least we are on the right track! Should I try one jet higher again?
:iagree: Try Matt Gruber's test. Too much vacumm advance shows up in my car mostly at steady cruise but also light acceleration. It appears to be a common problem with today's fuels. :steering:
I had something similar like this happen two nights ago. I had noticed my car getting steadily worse and worse. Mine was more surging during cruising. Then, all of the sudden the car stopped running. I would crank and start, then die.
What caused it? The + wire going to the coil was loose. Actually, it kind of cracked out of the connector. Fix the connector, revs up to 5500 now no problem, and cruises nicely.
Sorry, hadn't gotten much of a chance lately to mess with it. Disconnecting the vac advance did help a bit but not very much. I've done larger jets which seemed to help but it's still not gone. Power valve?
