Default Headlight Pots-Lubrication?

I am new here. Bear with me. The headlight pots in my new 1967 work fine but I believe in preventative maintenance. Are there lubrication points on the pots/hinges/electric motors?

Welcome! There are no actual lubrication points per the shop manual, but if you want you can at least pull the gear boxes off the shaft and open them to check the condition of the lube. If orig. it probably is solidified which can cause slow movement. Also the large gear could be damaged, requiring replacement. I used good quality wheel bearing grease. If you take out the entire bucket assembly per the manual you can see the pivot ***** and the felt washers all of which, at that point can be cleaned and lubed. Good luck!

If you pull the motors off, take your finger and push the headlights open. With slight pressure, they should fall shut. If they will do this, there is nothing to be gained by taking them out and cleaning them. There is a lot to be lost.

Thanks fellows. I will have a close peek at things today. I have an AIM and Chassis Manual so a little reading might be in order. When in doubt, read the instructions!
