I know a code scanner is not of much use on my 66 coupe but, I got a check engine soon light on my 2001 T/A WS6. Anybody have a scan tool that they like, works great and doesn't cost an arm and a leg? All input apprecaited.
Sorry Steve, I know all the codes for a pre OBD-2 computer, but that won't help in your situation. There's all kinds out there. Since I only have 1 vehicle out of 4 that is newer than 91, I've been going back & forth with the need for one myself.
Might be a better value to just take the car in to a shop and have them tell you what's wrong.
You make a good point. I would take it back to the dealer but, last time I had it in for a warranty issue, they broke the base of my left front fender when they lifted it on their lift. Doesn't leave you with a lot of confidence in the mechanic. They had to replace the fender as it could not be repaired.
I have seen some of the scanners for $25 to $50 and wondered if anyone on the Forum had any experience. I am also considering buying a hypertech programmer for the T/A. Still doing research there though.
By the way - the garage is looking good!!! Keep the pics coming.
I figure if I break down to get one of those scanners, I'll go all the way so I can help diagnose any make or model. There's where the $$$ come in.
Garage pics will continue when I get to a good point. Pouring the slab maybe Thurs/Fri, then it's all up to me as to how fast the rest goes since I'm the carpenter.
Thanks for the link. Got some good info there. Not sure if my question is answered yet but, lots of fuel for the fire. Seems like a younger bunch of members there.
