Thanks to another post, I've figured out what is making the power steering lock when turned all the way to the left on my 66. One of the hoses is kinking. How do I fix this problem? I've tried moving it around a bit but it doesn't seem to help.
By move it around - do you mean you loosened it at the connections repositioned it and retightened the ends? - if not - do so.
If that does not work, the hose needs to be replaced. In my experience, they need to be replaced every 20-40k miles to stop leaks after frying the hoses on the highway in hot weather. The GM hoses seem to last the longest. :chevy
In my 64 AIM, there is a very detailed routing and positioning procedure for both sets of hoses. They must have been going through the same engineering challenges way back then.
