The tools only $4.00 but if you really don't want to buy then use a flat blade screw driver but careful of the panel and when you put them back in put all of them facing the same way to help make it easier the next time

I'm a Snap-on tool dealer and one of my body shop owners would not buy his son this tool because he said that you can remove the clip by taking a shop rag and running it between the door panel and window crank, then turn the crank and the shop towel will pull the clip off of the handle. I have not tried this trick but it should work.

Is that a guy who uses a 150 lbs impact wrench on aluminum wheels and ballpeen hammer on loose chrome ??

The "trick" is to pull a terry cloth towel behind the handle and snag the retaining ring. Take a peek behind the handle to pull the towel in the right direction.
