Default Interior upgrade...

I had the seats in my 60 upholstered (vinyl) about 20 years ago. The vinyl is now cracking. I think I'll purchase some new seat coverings. Are these easy to install ? Can I just install the covers over my existing seats....the existing seats are kind of like a diamond tuck type seat....

I'm also going to replace my door panels....

Any suggestions on what price I should be paying for these ?

Can I take it that no one here has done an interior upgrade or restoration ?

Cheers

No, you have to remove the old covers, and generally most people also replace the foam also, if you are patient and meticulous you can do it yourself, i'm not so I don't. Check the catalog places ask which brand of trim they carry Knock's seam to be the most accepted, although you can get them cheaper from alot of jobbers cheaper than direct.

I just completed an interior resto on my '66 coupe. I bought all of the covers, foam, installation wires and etc. then took them to a local auto upholstery shop to get it all installed because it can be a pure bear to get everything tight and lined up properly. It all came back looking great!! Best money I could have spent :yesnod: It's best to replace foam and all as long as you're doing the job... you will be much happier with the results in the long run.
But the best quality you can get...it's worth it!
