Default Cooling article in Corvette Enthusiast Magazine

There is an article on Corvette cooling in the new CORVETTE ENTHUSIAST magazine written by John Hinckley. The is the best information on the subject that has ever been published! He outlines each component function, addresses trouble shooting, possible cooling solutions, and touches on myths that continue to circulate.

I did not sponsor, pay for, or contribute to this project at all. John deserves all the credit for telling it exactly how it is. It is seven pages long, and I can't figure out how to scan and post it or I would. If you are interested in some real good FACTS, and not someones opinion, this is what you need to read.

The article is in the Sept 2003 issue, and I can fax a copy to anyone with a fax number.

Maybe someone could post a scanned image of the magazine's cover. That way when we visit our local newsstand we would know what we were looking for....

Thanks, Tom. You're right, there were no new revelations, but it is nice to see it all in print in one spot. Very, very well written article. I was the "discoverer" of the Wells TU5 sender a couple of years back, (or at least I'm gonna claim credit). Glad to see John included that little low buck trick in the article.

Tom: If it is no too much trouble, I would also like a copy ......My 65 small block with factory A/C is running way too hot and I have tried just about everything that the forum members have suggested and here in Arizona if I have to stop in any type of traffic this time of the year I can watch my guage go to the top!! I have a IR gun and the T/stat housing and guage are just about the same......the former owner put a Be Cool radiator in just before I bought the car so I hate to just toss it without trying everything else...my fax number is (480)515-0492. THANKS!! Ron Martin

I thank you for alerting us to this article.

Since I and probably many others do not have fax machines available(besides I would think that faxing is going to cost time and money), perhaps "someone" can add this to the "C1/C2 Tech Tips" (located under "Tools") section of the Corvette Forum.

Thanks,
Plasticman

I am working on the scan and pdf idea. I never realized how many emails I would get for the fax. I will send it to the ones who asked me already but that's the cut off point. Someone out there has the Adolbe PDF writter program, speak up!

Tom,
Fax it to me at this number - it will be received by my e-mail inbox. I'll then convert the pictures into a PDF. I recently did this for the '67 wiring diagram and it worked.

I'll post it to the tech tips and on this forum.

If I only had a scanner, I would scan it into my PC and host it on my website... I would still be happy to host it if someone emails a file to me... Fnghrt@aol.com
