help decoding engine stamping
I just aquired a 65 coupe 327/300 hp,I do not have a reference guide to decode the numbers yet. The car is supposed to be matching number car. My vin # is 193475s100472, on the pad it reads 5100472 F08104HE the last letter I think is E. The block cast # 3782870 what does this all mean?
Also what is the paint code 900UU color?

Looks like you have a matching numbers block. The HE indicates a 250 HPw/ man trans. A 300 hp w/man trans would be an "HF"
The "UU" indicates Rally Red paint code.

I looked in my corvette by the numbers and came up with the following:
193475s100472
1 = Chevrolet
94 = 1965 stingray
37 = 2-door sport coupe
5 = 1965
S = Final Assembly Plant: St. Louis Mo.
100472 = Sequence #
3782870 = 1965 327ci with one of the following HP ratings; 250, 300, 365, 375. 2-bolt main
5100472 F08104HF
5 = 1965
100472 = las 6 numbers of vin
F = Flint Michigan
08 = August
10 = 10th day of August.
HF = 300hp, manual transmission, 4BBL

I typed the wrong vin # it should have been 194375s100472, and the engine should have been F0810HF that's why the breakdown was off. thanks Danny
