I'm trying to determine if my 327 is the right set of castings for a mid-year. It was up until recently installed in my '58, and I'm working on a rebuild.
Intake manifold: 3746829
R Exhaust manifold: 3750556
L Exhaust manifold: 3749965
Block: 37802870
Cylinder Head:3795896
Water Pump: 3782605
Distributor: Delco-Remy 1110891
Carburetor: Carter WCFB
Can't locate a part number for the generator or starter.
In particular I'm wondering if this is an engine, or parts of an engine, that might be better used by someone with a midyear (or even some other 327 powered GM car) than by me, as I have no attachment to this or any other 327.
The 870 block was/is a 327 block used in 62-65 Corvettes. You'll find the casting date of the block on the bellhousing flange by the distributor hole. The date will be "A 1 3"= Jan 1, 1963, and so on. Chuck
Intake is from a '58-'61 Corvette 1x4
Heads are from a '63-'64 327/250hp Corvette
Exhaust manifolds are from a '58-'61 Corvette (all)
Distributor was used on '57 carb engines and all '58-'61 2x4 engines
