Red Interior/Carpet
Is the red used on the stock midyear interiors/carpet the same or similar to the new Torch Red used on the C5's? I am doing a Torch Red 66 coupe and want to also do the interior in Torch Red leather with red carpet. I have bought two hides and 6 yds of "partner" which is vinyl with the same grain as the leather but am having trouble finding an upholstery shop who can come up with the right color carpet. I remember seeing an original midyear with red carpet with flecks of black in it which would be ok also if the color is right. Hopefully I could buy some bulk carpet from a supplier who does interiors. Any ideas?

Nick, I have an 02 Torch Red convertible with Torch Red interior. The interior in my car looks like a brighter red than what I've seen in mid year Vettes at NCRS meets. In bright sun light my interior almost takes on an orange look. The interior color on my car is a very close match to the exterior paint color. I would think that whoever is making C5 carpet should be able to supply you with the correct color. That carpet you mentioned with black flecks in it sounds like the solid axle Tuxedo carpet. Thanks for the reply. I had forgotten that the newer Torch Red interiors also have red carpet. That would be perfect! Now to see if I can get someone to sell me some carpet in bulk instead of the molded sets.
