I have been running an MSD 6al for over a year or so, and like it very much....smooth starting and very reliable idle. Most of the CCC boyz here in Colorado run them also. Check the archives, and you will see that this has been a topic over the years, and that many folks are running them. It is NOT a Pertronix in the least, but is a magnetic pickup system. Its an easy installation, and the box can be "hidden" any number of places. :yesnod:

So it does away with (or replaces) your points and condenser ?
Cheers
Kenmo
The 6A or 6AL box doesn't replace the points or condensor but the MSD distributor does. The box can be used with any distributor, points or electronic, but it's wiring is set up for "plug `n play" with the MSD unit.
I am very satisfied with MSD, installed 5 years ago troble free ......... for best price go to" JEGS"......The distrbuter comes with mechanical tach drive & vac advance............worked for me. :seeya :steering: :flag
id like to hear where you guys are mounting the box. pics too if any of you guys have em.
I mounted mine on the driver's side fender well just above the washer tank so it wouldn't be too conspicous. I did need to extend the lead to reach the battery on the passenger side.
Kenmo, Summit lists the distributor for $287, the 6AL box for $196.
