On my 1960, how is the tachnomter cable supposed to route to the generator?
Mine currently comes straight out of the firewall, next to the master brake cylinder and then bends around behind the distributer and in front of the wiper motor then bends again to get to the generator. The problem I have is that when I was adjusting the carb linkage last night, I noticed that under full thottle conditions, the accelerator lever pushes against the tach cable. Cn't be right, what am I missing?

It runs out of the tach and makes a right turn, under the dash, behind the wiper arms over behind the heater and out a hole on the passenger side of the firewall.
