Does anyone know if Doug Nash 5 speed bolts in a '59, and what is a "ballpark" figure to buy one? Does he have a web site? I think that is the right name. Thanks for any info. you can provide.

Default Re: Transmission (1drivr)

The Doug Nash 5-speed, which is now the Richmond 5-speed, will bolt to the bellhousing. If can be purchased with either the 10-spline or 26-spline (late) input shaft. It has a 32-spline output shaft, which is the same as a Muncie, I believe. I have not done this conversion, but I believe the transmission will fit the tunnel without any cutting. The rear mount may need some adjustment, though. The shifter is separate from the transmission, like a Borg-Warner or Muncie.

Look in the Jeg's or Summit catalog for prices. I believe the transmission is about $1890 now, and the shifter (Hurst) is about $300. These prices are from Jeg's.

You can check out the transmission at the Richmond websitehttp://www.richmondgear.com
