Johnson lifters .. ? ..
Has anyone heard of these valve lifters - Johnson .. ? .. I ordered the FM AT-840R lifters last friday as they were an 'in stock' item I was told. Seems there was some confusion at the parts house and though I specified FM what they really had in stock were FM 'equivalents', or Johnson lifters. I have never heard of this brand of lifter.
I posted that this particular parts house had two extra sets of AT-840R lifters available but it turns out that wasn't the case, afterall. Sorry if I tripped anybody up .. ! .. The FM LT-1 cam arrived today so I'm hoping to score some AT lifters from another source. .. .. Any ideas . .. ? .. Thanks ..

FWIW, give Tracy Performance a call in Roseville, MI ( 586-772-8901 ). He just may have the GM discontinued edge-orifice lifters...expect to pay a premium for 'em if you do.
As I'm going the route of converting my original 300 horse motor to the solid version, I've bought the FM LT-1 cam (through CARQUEST) and the GM lifters from Tracy Performance. My winter project is right around the corner.
The sewing machine sound awaits me!
Good luck!

John - Those 'flathead' days were a little before my time. I ain't no "spring chicken" myself .. :D .. I remember guys then didn't think too much of those old flatheads........considered "junk" compared to the OHV's .. I can only imagine what one of those 'junk' flatheads would go for now .. ! .. Looks like the piddle valve lifters are what will end up going into my rebuild project ..
Jim - I've never had a 'Singer sound' engine before so this time around should be interesting. Not sure if I really wanna pay a premium for the sake of having EO lifters ..
Ironcross - I wasn't aware of that. Makes sense since either Johnson or Stanadyne would already have the necessary investment in tooling.
Thanks, guys
