hello from a new member....been watching here a while, and is a good forum....question is, where to look for build sheet on 64, or did build sheets not happen till 67?? TIA
There was an article in the Nov 03 issue of Corvette Enthusiast tited "Finding that Hidden Documentation" by Noland Adams. He mentions a 65 owner that found a broadcast sheet (build sheet) after removing the fresh air grill in the passenger side kick panel. Behind this grill is a valve that allows fresh air into the vehicle. It was after removing this valve that a crumbled up build sheet was found directly behind the door hindge. Per the article it may take some digging in the well area to find anything. Worth a try, I have a 64 and am looking forward to investigating this area. I do have one suggestion, if you see something try to use care, I'm sure any documents that old will be a bit delicate. Later....vetzs
I have not found one yet in mine but I did find one of the original keys tucked way up in under the seat when I had it out one day. You never know what you might come across when poking around in these cars.
My son and I are doing a total frameoff and we disassembled absolutly everything and never found any sign of a build sheet. While we were disappointed we were not surprised. Never pass up any hidden crevices.
Strange things can happen. I was driving a 52 international 1 ton that my father had given me and the build sheet came out from under the dash. I had the A/C on, the air scoop in front of the windshield, and the wind must have caught it right to dislodge it. 50 years and it never came loose. I thought it was neat and saved it, it was in pretty good condition and easily readable.
I found a build sheet under the carpet in my 64. It is in pretty
good shape and I have photocopied it and placed the original
in the safe. Maybe you will find yours, but like others say, good
luck.

I replaced the carpeting in my '64 coupe, but I didn't take the jute padding under the carpeting out.
Did you find this under the padding or just under the carpet?

The original owner taped one of the original keys under the front left bumper, found it when I took it apart for painting. Man, was that some crusty old tape, may never get the tape residue off of the key.
Still hoping to find some documentation hidden somewhere.
