Mark,
Cant send a pic, since I am minus a finished car at the moment, but the wind lace is captured under the end cap on the dash pad. You have to take a razor and cut through the stiching on the windlace so you can get to the center and remove the foam core. The core should be removed to point about 1/4" beyond the point where the dash end cap and the windlace will intersect. You then fold the windlace flat and capture it under the cap with the lower screw going through the windlace to secure it from being pulled loose.
Regards, John McGraw
I've seen some pics of the later style end caps and I could see the windlace going under the caps but mine has the earlier flat stainless caps and I couldn't work out how to do it so it looked right.
Hi Mark,
I finished up getting all the suspensoin on the chassis this weekend and will have the chassis rolling around on the wheels today. I will post some pics in the nexr couple of days.
Regards, John McGraw
As promised, here are some pics.
See the rest at my web site. Click on right and left windlace.
These are originals out of a 58. You have to remove some of the round
foam to be able to put the windlace under the cap.
I'll be real interested to see the pics of your project as a couple of guys over here are either doing similar mods or are thinking of doing them so I would love to pass on your pics.
