any tips will be appreciated, thanks guys.
Do a search on heater cores. Plenty of info. I just did mine. There is a screw on the driver's side firewall that holds the heater core box on the far side. The AIM does not show that fastener. Once that is removed, the box comes off with some coaxing. The heater core outlet tubes have a bend in them. You have to work it out also. The real job for me was to get the new core in carefully and get it seated. I feel your pain. Good luck with the project.
I probably won't be much help but I'll try. I fixed mine about 15 years ago and as I remember it, it wasn't that big a deal to get out.
If you have a fax machine email me the number and I'll send you a factory diagram on how to get the engine compartment side apart and out.
The core itself is in behind the glove box and once you have the box out it is really fairly self explanatory. The trick is getting the motor, squirel cage and housing on the engine side of the car out.
hi MYMAUR,
I SET YOU AN INSTANT MESSAGE WHIT MY FAX NUMBER. IF YOU CAN EMAIL ME THE INSTRUCTION FOR THE CORE, MY EMAIL IS wtirelli@aol.com.
thanks much bill
