Default Frame Serial Numbers

Anyone know exactly where the second location of the serial number is on the drivers side frame rail? I was able to find remnants of the first number on the kickup right close to the where the body mount is. Unfortunately I can only make out 6SI of the first number. The stamping must have been very light. I wonder if there is any way to make the stamping reveal itself where I can't see the rest of the numbers.

The second stamping is about a foot forward of where the kickup starts up.

Six, in the pic below, the forward VIN # is about halfway between the jackstand and the edge of the pic. You can see a darker spot on teh top frame rail which is where I cleaned the numbers off.

Joe,

Could you see your numbers clearly? I can only see remnants on the kickup and none at all on the side frame. Too much corrosion. :(

Clean the surface off with a Scotchbrite pad and a toothbrush, wipe white shoe polish on it, then wipe the surface with a rag; some of the white shoe polish will remain in the stamping and make it easier to see.

Yes, sort of. Although fainter then the numbers on the rear kickup, they are legible. I just took a little simple green and a wire brush and was able to see them after wiping with a rag. I like the shoe polish idea above though. Good tip!

This isn't the best pic but I lightened a little right on the numbers (S119761).
