My 63 has a BW T10. When shifting into 2nd gear it feels fine. However, when I start to engage the clutch I get the horrible 'grinding gear' noise. If I disengage and really pull hard it will go on into gear. I have tried double clutching and it doesn't seem to help. All other gears are working well.
Help, anyone? Could this be a simple adjustment or what? Should I just go ahead and order a Keisler 5-speed?
By the way. It was beautiful yesterday in East Tennessee. A drive through the northern side of the Smokies was terrific!! Sorry to rub it in.
Either the linkage is coming apart or the trans levers are cracking - it is not going into gear before you engage the clutch. If you keep engaging the clutch before it is completely in gear, you will trash the synchros.
