The passenger door handle button on my '65 coupe is very hard to depress during the winter. The rest of the year its fine. I have tried lubricating the thing, but that didn't help.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where the problem may lie?
I find that a common problem is that people tend to over grease working mechanisms to much. It really does not take that much grease to keep things in good working order and protect from moisture. The problem with grease or lubes is that it acts as an attractant for any grit and grime and then starts to wear excessively along with all the attracted dust, etc starting to gum up the works.
I'll bet if you get inside the door panel, really clean all the moving parts with a good solvent, then re-grease lightly you'll find that it quits sticking.
