1- My ignition key will turn to the "on" and "start" positions with no problem, but it will not turn to the "accessory" position. I have tried powdered graphite, to no avail. Any ideas?
2- I did not get a glove box key with my car. Any idea how I can find the pattern?
My keys are messed up......I have a silver colr key for the ignition......and a bronze colored one for the doors.......neither will fit the glove box.....
Gary, you should of told me at the show on Saturday. I have an extra ignition lock. Dave
If I can't get this figured out, we'll have to make a deal.
I was glad to see you made it to the show. Your car is beautiful and you can be proud. Hope mine turns out half as well.
My '66 Owners Manual says the ignition key is the same as the doors and the other key fits the glovebox and spare tire lock.
I agree my 65 is the same. Ignition and doors are the octogon key and the glove box and spare tire carrier lock (If you have one) are the round key.
I also agree that you sould take your locks or your whole car to a good lock smith. He should be able to make you new keys from GM blanks. He can also rekey your locks and ignition for the same key.
