I am in the process of re-assembling the rear suspension on my '63 roadster. I am putting it back to stock (drum brakes); however, I have in my posession complete trailing arm assemblies off of a '65. My question to all of you eminently knowledgeable Corvette experts is this: Which parts (besides the drum brake components) are exclusive to the '63? The reason I am asking this is because the '63 assemblies don't look so good :nonod::sad:; if necessary, I was hoping to be able to utilize some of the '65 parts.
Re: Trailing Arm Assemblies - '63 vs. '65 (kbuhagiar)
The basic arms are more or less the same. There are some little bracket differences for brake lines , hand brakes, rebound bumper bkt. They can be made to work.
Re: Trailing Arm Assemblies - '63 vs. '65 (kbuhagiar)
The later 65's and upward had the bracket locations on top for the rear sway bars on the big blocks. If you don't care about judging, they will work. I believe there is also a diference in the emergency brake brackets, but that doesn't matter.
My 63's were rusted through in a couple of spots and had to change them. Got replacements without the sway bar brackets.
