I've owned a few vets in the past, this is my first C2 (66 air 4speed). I new a some input on a few things:
1. Good manuals to order?
2. Instruction on removing knock offs?
3. No bake pedal pressure unless pupmed a few times (no leaks). Best place to start?
Could be a bad MC, but the calipers on a MY are hard to bleed and get all the air out. A pressure bleeder is the real trick. Might be worthwhile to pay someone to bleed them, though you can buy a power bleeder pretty cheap nowdays. Remember the rear calipers have two bleeder valves.... I'd try bleeding real well first and then look at the MC after i knew the brakes were bled as well as possible.
Also, a warped rotor can cause the calipers to suck air. Common MY/Shark problem. Check for excessive runout.
To start with a solid knowledge base, get yourself a Chassis Service Manual and an Assembly Instruction Manual ("AIM") to start (see link below), and then the "Corvette Restoration and Technical Guide Vol 2" by Noland Adams. http://www.ncrs.org/store/shop.cgi/p...88032950.23998
