I´ve bought a new harness for my -65. The problem is that the harness seems to be done as if the generator and relayboxes should be placed on the right hand side of the car. We have three other cars with original wiring, and the new harness doesn´t match any of the others (-66,-66,-67).
Any ideas? I dont want to start cutting on the new harness, but maybe that is the only answer.
It may be the wrong harness. Does it match exactly the original harness? If not, return it. For a quality harness, check M&H at http://www.wiringharness.com. Best harnesses out there that I have seen.
65 small block cars with no AC have the alt. and reg. on the right side. Big block cars and all cars with AC are on the left. 66-67 are all on the left. So your harness is correct.
You have the wrong harness for your car; it's a lot of work to convert all the circuits to the correct driver's side configuration, but that's your call.
