Default Radiator Support mounted wrong ???

I laid the hood on my project car but the front hits the radiator
support and radiator neck. After looking i see the support was
welded to the frame on the bottom corners.

Can someone give the the measurement if you laid a straight edge across
the top of the fenders and measure the distance between the top of the radiator support and the straight edge. I have 1 7/8" on mine.

Thanks in advance
Oh by the way it's a 64 365 hp, no air or fi car.

Are you sure the rad support itself is welded to the frame? The shims between the bottom of the rad support (where the bolts are) and the frame were welded to the frame at the factory, and the rad support sits on the shim pack.

Seems like the tabs on the frame where the radiator support sits on were
grounded off. The radiator support side/corner is welded to the frame at this point. There are no shims below the radiator support just an open hole
where the bolt would go.

I'm thinking it was hit at one time and they did a quick repair. Can you get
that measurement i asked for above. Thanks alot.
