Default Chrome question

My kid brother who assists me alot with work on my 1960 Vette accidentally put a scratch into the front of my 60's front bumper. It's a bit deep. Is there anything that can be done other then replating to remove the scratch. The chrome's skin doesn't appear to be broken. But I have fears it may start to rust in this area.

kenmo; after having worked in the plating industy for some years I can tell you for sure that there is nothing you can do to repair your blemish. To prevent rusting you can use some wax or whatever you use for paint products. I use only quality paint products like Maguires on my paint AND chrome. Pretty well all chrome polishes have abraisives in them. Just use it once and and your chrome is ruined to the trained eye.

I agree with the post that there is no fix. Also having done a little
plating in my other life, one must remember that chrome plating measures in the thousanths so be very careful what you try. Might better just forget this one. Hard but a wise decision.
