Default C1 Speeometer Cable
Should the speeometer cable on a C1 have stell casing or should they heve black vinyl cover?

When I bought my '60 in 1971, I believe it still had the original speedometer cable. It was steel case.

If you are talking about your 56, then spiral steel is correct. Late 59 and newer cars would have a black vinyl cover.

Both the speedo and tach cables have spiral steel outer casings.

Is that 57 engine compartment? Looks very nice. What coating have you used on the exhaust manifolds?

Yup, that was my '57; did the manifolds with Eastwood's "Factory Gray" about two years before the photo was taken.
