'56 Body Installation
I dropped the body on my chassis the other day and I appear to have a problem. When I went to shim the body to frame I noticed that the front mounts were OK but the rear mounts inside the floor pan were an inch or so higher then the frame.
I think I've found the problem but need some advice/information. The chassis I've got is not for a '56, it's a '60. I noticed in one of the vendor parts catelogys I have that there is a different rear crossmember for '53 to '57 than in the '58s and up.
Does anyone know if this difference would hold the rear of the body up? If this is the case I can cut the '60 crossmember off and weld in a new piece. I don't mind doing that but I want to be sure before I order the crossmember.
The car's not intended to be an NCRS car, just a driver so please no rants!
