I doesn't like that flavor, here try this:

My take: I like the smooth, classic look of the C2 with its retractable headlight buckets. Don't care much for the C6's eyes.

I like the C6, headlights and all. There's more to being a Corvette than just pop up headlights.

Eliminating the pop-up headlamps was a major part of the cost and weight reduction program for the C6; just one of the elements that let them bring the new car out at the same price as the C5.

I have to say... wasn't a big fan of the C6 until I stook next to one. It was jet black and sparkling clean and I fell in love. Good thing I don't have the $$ for one

Drove one last weekend. Nice (front and side) look to it, even without the pop up lights. Can understand the "need" to eliminate the pop ups (lower CD drag when the lights are "on", lower wgt., and less complication of parts).

However, when I drove it, I noticed a decided lag from when I hit the throttle, to when it actually launched. Drove a SR2 with the same "lag". Must have something to do with the electronic throttle and traction control not making up their minds that I really wanted to "GO".

I don't like the rear end treatment of the C6 or C5 (actually now that the C6 came out, I like the rear of the C5 a lot better).

So what's wrong with exposed headlights?

Part of the reason the rear end looks like it does (i.e. License pocket) is GM wants to sell Corvettes over seas and the license plates are larger.

The primary reason for the "big butt" on the C5 and the C6 is that's what works best in the wind tunnel for reduced drag and road-load horsepower, both of which contribute to improved highway fuel economy numbers. Also proves that what works in the tunnel doesn't necessarily "look good".

Noticed that there is not a place for a front license plate on the C6. We in Illinois are "lucky" in that we are required to wear the front plate. How many other states require front plates, and what was the General thinking?

Or am I missing something?

Plasticman,
I wonder if they'll attach some kind of holder??? On my daily driver the dealer was kind enough to "attach" a front license plate holder after I purchased the car. They " attached" it with two ling screws right through the center of the front bumper!

I was super angry and asked them what right they had to make holes in my bumber AFTER I paid for the car. They said it is a state law and they are required to do it.... whatever...

I can't even imagine what would happen if they did that to someone who just purchased a brand new Corvette
