On my 64 roadster, all my gauges are perfect execpt my odometer doesn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions how or where to get this fixed? Also, how difficult is it to remove the odometer from the cluster? Thank you in advance.
This guy could fix it or you might be able to get the parts you need from him. I havent fixed mine yet but I tore it open and found two brass worm gears in the spedo that were worn out. I will probably have to replace the whole spedo mechanism because it doesnt look like it comes apart that far. I will probably get mine done this winter. Id like to here what you come up with.
Speedo working correctly and the odometer not working is common in MidYears(53-82 Vettes for that matter).
The speedo works off of magnatism and has less wear than the gear driven system that works the odometer. The odometer wheels themselves get hard to work and will lock up.
I can help you get it working again. VetteInstruments@aol.com
Speedometer repair service, Roswell georgia, they rebuilt my odometer for 90 bucks & calibrated speedo >>>>>>>turnaround time was 8 days............worked for me the Dog.
Just my 2 cents here. JOliver who responed to your post, is who did all my instruments. He has done instruments for other forum guys too. I had another company do them and they screwed them up bad. I feel that Jason is one of the VERY BEST out there! These words are coming from an **** guy too, "me". His turn around is good and the price is right. With all the hackers out there that stick it to us in this hobby, I gotta tell ya,..................it's a real pleasure to find someone honest or should I say, who has INTEGRITY and takes a lot of PRIDE in his work. Two up.
