Default Engine factory 383 stroker

I have been told by the Engine Factory people that their 383 stroker will clear the stock small block hood on my 1966 Coupe. Anybody verify this for me.

The external dimensions of a stroker motor are identical to your original motor so if your original motor fits then so will the stroker.

Default Me Too!

I asked about that clearence as well. I currently have a Holley street dominator and a 625 AFB, with the Tri-Flo air cleaner and it rubs.

They "told" me that the air cleaner, carb and manifold setup will work just fine?????????

I don't know...The tri-flow I have is pretty low, and the looks of that air cleaner on their 383/450 looks alot higher.

To change from the manifold they offer to a lower profile, they said I would loose 60 HP.

I replied to other thread, but like I said, I have their 383/480hp engine in my shop and will have it installed in 3 weeks. I will post pictures and dimensions when done.

Default I built and run a 383 with Victor JR intake on my 60...

I built and run a 383 with Victor JR intake on my 60... I do not know what the differences are between C1 and C2 hood heigth? The airfilter I am running is one of the large after market chrome much taller than the stock 60 air filter and I clear with no issues.

Not an issue - a 383 is the same size externally as a 265/283/327/350, and SHP engines used 8" balancers from the factory.

Default Serpentine belt.

John,
I was curious about the serpentine belt pulley they use on the 383 setup. I assumed the pulley was wider out in front of the balancer. My old V-belt pulley has only 3/8" clearence to the frame.

Dunno about the crank pulley with the serpentine setup; never understood why people spend $1,000 for a pulley setup that just looks shiny and provides zero performance benefit.
