Default 67 clock

Just removed the clock, and noticed that the back of the clock has three prong. Two of the prongs take the clip to hold the clock to the dash. But the third prong (in the middle) was not attached to anything when I removed it.

What is this middle prong for? Is it supposed to be attached to something? Is it a ground?

Thanks
ER

Hello esr,

At the back of your clock there should be 2 wires + - and 3 prongs. The prongs are there for aligment and support.

There should be two electrical "prongs", one positive, one negative.
Make sure you figure out which is which, as the clock will work if
connected either way. However, hooking it up "backwards" will cause
current to get into the clock body, the console, and other unwanted
places causing strange problems. You might want to do a search on
this issue to get more details.

Good luck!
