Default C2 keys

What keys are supposed to match each other. I know the doors and ignition use the same key. Are the glove box and spare tire lock a different key?

On all midyears, both doors & the ignition use the same octagon key (Briggs & Stratton) with the teeth down. In '63 & 64, this same hex key also opens the glove box. In '63 & '64, a separate oval key (Briggs & Statton) operates the spare tire lock only. For '65-67, the spare tire lock & the glove box use the same (oval) key. '67s also have a different keyway in all lock cylinders. There is an 'A' stamped on the ignition/door key, and a 'B' stamped on the glove box/spare tire lock. Thus, a '67 uses different (& difficult to find) key blanks unless you are satified with the goofy hardware store look.

I had a locksmith (Jesser?) at a Bloomington show key all my locks the same on my 66. Sure is handy.

ALL 1963-64 models have a SINGLE Briggs & Stratton OCTAGON key to operate the ignition, the doors, the glove box and the spare tire lock - not two keys

Joey Jesser has done all my key work for years - not cheap, but top-notch work, and one of the few sources for REAL original blanks with the correct keyway codes.
