Does any one know of any reason why a block and heads could not be powder coated?
Will it hold up to the heat at least as well as paint? Will it inhibit heat transfer and possibly cause the engine to run hotter?
My frame goes in this Thursday and the powder coating guy said that they bake it @350 deg., so he could not imagine the heat from an engine block having an effect on the coating.

I've just got into powder coating and from I've learned so far the block will do fine with the polyester compounds and the heads will probably do similar except close to the exhaust ports. Epoxies do better at high temps but colors don't hold up as well.
