I would like to do the same thing with mine. Here is what I have noticed with different EFI's from Edlebrock, Holley and various others. I have noticed that you probably should change the ignition to be compatible with the ECM on the Fuel injection so that the computer can control spark advance instead of the old manual. This could be costly if you intend on keeping a distributor that has the provision for the Tac Cable. ( i'm sure someone here can give us a work around on this ).. Then I have noticed on some systems that there is a limit on the amount of compression and some are tunable and some are not so tunable they come with manufacture calibrated chips..,, I personally will steer away from that set up as I would like to have the tuneability for future mods. I have wondered if there are camshaft limitations on the tunable units. The hood clearance is an issue on the RAM JET 350 and it is not tunable ,, unless you know a tuner shop that can custom build a chip or custom calibrate that unit. Also I noticed the Jegs Catalog mentions the holley kit doesn't come with a manifold and some other stuff. Where as the Edlebrock does.. I'm thinking that if a guy could just run a late model truck engine that would be the easiest way to get fuel injection. A person could probably pick up entire engine for the price of some of these after market jobs. I have many questions as well.
I just recently saw the new Holley Stealth Ram in a C2 and it looked real sweet. The Vette was a 65 with a 350 SB and the SB hood, however some of the bracing on the hood had to be modified to clear the front of the intake. Also, the owner had put in an Accel distributor with the Tach drive to boost the ignition. He said that he had some inital problems with the injectors which were 36 lb/hr, switched to 30 lb/hr and it ran much better. He does not like the noise from the frame mounted fuel pump and is planning to switch to an in-tank unit. Also, he had to fabricate a return fuel line back to the tank. He claims to be getting mid to high twenties for fuel mileage with 3:36 gears.

Below is a system many DIY people are starting to use. If you read the above you get a sense of OEM systems. The below is a DIY setup that I am going to use to convert a couple of Hilborn units, one bb and one sb, planning to use mech advance dist. The hangup has been the fuel system but I think the new 2004 Corvette returnless setup can be modified to work.
