Dash mounted Capacitor (s)
I got the Dash off OK.....got it stripped down....send my speedo out to get the Odometer(s) repaired
A wire fell off a capacitor when I was stripping the dash down.......I think its just a brittle 40 year old wire
Its shown on P364 of the assembly manual as
item 5 1960960 capacitor ASM hooked to
PROD RADIO Capacitor connector (brown wire)
Where can one get a replacement for this?? are they common?
Do I just go to a radio store or auto electric store or sumpin?

That's the radio capacitor, and they're not reproduced - the original was .05 mfd. It's not essential anyway; just tape the connector back on the brown wire - it's hot any time the ignition is on.

Hey thanks......but I'm not quite clear .........
the wire broke going into the capacitor......the other end had a plastic connector......which plugged in.....do I just leave the capacitor off and cover the other end off??
What did this capacitor do? Will the radio still work?

Volunteer Vette Sells Them
I was looking through a Volunteer Vette catalog recently and realized that they sold the 3 caps behind the dash. They also sell the radio cap you're looking for:

Not trying to plug Volunteer Vette, but they do sell that part. I imagine Long Island Corvette has them as well, but I didn't look.
