Hope you guys can help me. What would a 67 engine be worth that has a spun bearing.
The block is 3858174 date code F246 Pad is F0627HO and the heads are 3890462. I am tols this is a Corvette engine is there any way I can know for sure ? The pad also has a number 6126685 if this helps.
Any information will be appreciated.
I am thinking about having this fixed, how much would I expect to pay to have a spun bearing fixed ?
Your motor originally came in a 1966 Corvette with powerglide and was rated at 300 hp. Fixing a spun bearing is different if it is a connecting rod bearing or a main engine gearing and depends on how long it was run in that condition. Being a lower horsepower and powerglide motor tends to lower it's value somewhat. Also if it has already been rebuilt and overbored to 60K it may not be feasible to rebuild again without a lot of extra costs. The heads are probably worth more than the block.

Thanks very much for this reply...I appreciate you taking time to tell me this.
Why not just drop a crate motor in it and fix the orginal on your time? I also have a 350/350HP from a C3 that is just sitting here. It's complete, carb, starter, flywheel, everything. I would be glad to part with it.
I appreciate the offer very much, I have another engine that is ready to go, I was just curious if this one was worth repairing. I have a guy who wants to buy it as is so I may let it go and use the other one I have.
Thanks again, John
