I have not used this guy for anything but came across it and thought I'd throw it up here in case anyone is looking for specific #'s

Good service.

I have inquired about several items he has listed and each time he responds that the item I am interested in is not for sale because he is going to use it for a future project. I wonder if he has pictures of items to draw corvette buys in and then sells only those items he does not want. I recall that I have read that other forum members have purchased from him and got as his web site states...junk.

Recently discussed with and bought a broken wiper arm from Chris that I wanted for the hub. Not sure if my or his miscommunication, but the wiper arm sent didn't have a usable hub, had the same problem as my original (the pin in the hub where the spring attaches was pulled/stripped out of the hub).

I called him, explained the problem, and offered to return the wiper arm for a refund of the small purchase price I paid. After some discussion regarding my intended usage, he agreed to refund my cost but didn't want the old arm back. (Actually, the old arm is pretty useless, but I would have returned it in order to show that I was not able to use any part of it.)

I'm now waiting on the refund, we'll see how it goes, and I'll try and update this thread based on the outcome. In my opinion, how a buyer/seller handles these small incidents is indicative of how you can expect a larger one to be handled as well. So, time will tell . . .

Seems like with alot of vendors it's hit or miss.

Tom Dewitt and Jason Oliver are 99+% postive.

Seems most others have a bump in the road here and there.

Well, I promised I''d try and update the thread based on my experience. Hadn't heard anything from Chris for a week or two, so I gave him a call to see if he was following thru on the refund we'd discussed. He said he intended to, just had some other things going on right then, but had my address and would get it out.

My refund arrived today, just as promised, a check in the amount of $15.00 that I paid for the wiper arm. I had offered to return it as an act of good faith, but he said it wasn't necessary and was as good as his word. This was only a small item, but says a lot for a the guy in my book. You can be sure if he has any items I'm interested in at a future date, he'll have my business.

Too many times vendors are trashed for poor service, I think it's equally important to recognize those who strive to treat the customer right!! In my opinion, Chris is one of the "good guys"!!!

I bought a pair of 461 heads from him (Chris) that were to be cleaned, pressure checked, and maged. He cleaned one, and I think maged both. I sent him several emails with questions after I received them and no response. Finally called him and he really had little to say other than he stands behind the parts. I only paid $250 for the heads and they will need some work but the quality and clean-up was not as good as I expected nor like he described. I doubt he has any nice parts but like I said the price was reasonable and I did get date correct heads.

I had a less than stellar experience with Chris. I'm building a resto-rod and bought a set of C4 aluminum upper a-arms. One was obviously damaged and not roadworthy yet he insisted it would be OK. He reluctantly refunded my money and idirectly indicated he would "fix" the piece and re-sell it. Search the archives for my nickname or "corvettejunk.com" and see what he considers to be a roadworthy part, then think about what you may be buying from him. Buyer beware.

This site looks good, but they do not respond to e-mails. Wrote them last week about three different parts, and no response, followed up Monday, still no response....................

You will have to call Chris if you want something. He is very slow at getting back to anyone. Very slow at shipping parts. Very slow at everything so do not expect great service.

I bought a clock off him and it was exactly as described, Fedex gave us trouble twice and both times he took care of it. He made sure that I got the clock. PHONE him, he was very nice to deal with on the phone.

Guys, remember that some people do not check email on a daily baisis. On many occasions, I get so much email that I can not answer it all, or I am too tired.

Cheers,

oWEN

The one thing that I would like to see him do it only advertise items that are for sale. In the past I have contacted him regarding a couple of items on his web site only to have him tell me they are not for sale. When I spoke to him on the phone I learned that he has items that he will sell but those ended up not being something I would pay to ship. So I was a little disappointed with the aspect of his business practice...

Why buy anything from him if you have to go to that much trouble......and then not get any service????

Just a thought...........

Because he had the heads I was not able to find anywhere else with the correct date codes. But just giving my experience to those who deal with him. Not a bad guy at all, in fact very nice on the phone. Just not good service and not sure I would trust him again. But like all used stuff, buyer beware!

There is no perfect buyer, or seller. We all drop the ball on occasion, communication is the key !

He is reachable by phone only but as said above was pleasant to deal with.

I bought a black C2 side exhaust rear filler panel from him 18 months ago. It arrived well-packed and in excellent condition just as described. All I had to do was bolt it on since my 65 is black also.

I noticed when he shipped my wiper arm that the return address was a salvage yard with another name, so I suspect Chris must run the Corvette parts business as a sideline. I'm guessing that's why he's slow to respond to e-mails, has other things going on. My $0.02
