Default Wondering about a 62 Corvette 327

Just wondering how much you guys think a 327 out of a 62 four speed Vette is worth. It has the very rare three step oil pan(with trap door),3817173 balancer with fins,11.25 to 1 forged pistons, forged crank,1110985 dual point dist.,462 double hump heads with screw in studs and bronze guides, comp cams solid lift cam .555 lift, comp cams full roller rockers. It's been balanced.Block was decked and bored .030 over.Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bobby.

Sounds like a runner. This is an 870 casting no. engine I assune? One with a mid to late 1961 cast date is more valuable than those with \casting dates in early 1962,more people looking for early blocks since this was first year of the 870,s hope this helps 66racer

Are the heads 462's or a typo? they should be 461 casting and if the heads are dated correct to the block then it is worth more.

I started with my '63 870 block. Found a great deal on some 461x heads ($200) had the heads rebuilt with guideplates, screw in studs etc. had the block bored to .030, new crankshaft, new speed pro hypereutectic pistons, everything balanced etc. My machine shop bill was $2400. The finned balancer is worth about $200, correct carb ($550), correct intake ($450), correct exhaust manifold ($300), corect high volume oil pan ($200) all the other small parts I will have almost $5k in my engine rebuild.

The block alone is probably worth $600-800.
