I need an ignition switch plug for my '61. The one on mine is half broken and taped together. If anyone has an old wiring harness with a salvageable plug, please let me know. I'll pay the going rate, whatever that is. Thanks
What years can you use? Do you have a pic? I'm replacing my harness and you can have my plug if it works with a 67. My guess is it will not work but does not hurt to ask.
Sorry for the delay in response. Been on vacation. Polyrocks, thanks for the offer. I don't know if your plug will work but I will check to see if I can find out and let you know. Babylonvette, there are definitely no screws on my switch but the one plug that is broken is taped together so I can't tell for sure if they are separate but believe it to be a combo plug. Guy's thanks for your response and I will get back to you. Wib
Don't waste your time with used plugs. You risk burning the car to the ground. Buy the ignition harness, it's cheap enough, maybe $50.00 and includes the main ignition plug. It goes through the fire wall and connects to the starter solienoid , dropping resistor, and voltage regulator. It's a simple install and will only take an hour or two. The less old crispy wiring you have in these cars the better off you are.
Just my opinion. Rich
Rich- Thanks for the info. Did not realize the ignition harness was sold separately, but will look. I agree that a $50 investment will be worth it. Thanks again. Wib
